Objectives

•  talk about problems and give advice using will, might , may, and adverbs of possibility.


Will vs May/Might

Will

• We use “will” when we are sure that something will happen.

•We use an infinitive without to after will.

“It will be sunny later.” (100% probability)

May/Might

  • We use “may” when we are not sure about something in the present or future.
  • To ask for permission and to give permission in a formal way.
  • We use “might” as the past tense of requests.

“She may be coming to see us tomorrow.” (Not certain)

Adverbs of possibility

Probably/Definitely/Certainly

• We use adverbs of possibility to show how sure we are.

• We use adverbs of possibility before verb.
